Editorial charter

Press freedom, with accountability

Student press freedom is protected under Republic Act 7079, which guarantees the right of campus publications to report and comment. Personal data collected from contributors and readers is handled under Republic Act 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Matters involving defamation, minors, or personal data are flagged for legal review before publication.

Editorial process

From draft to publication

Every piece moves through one path: Draft, Pending, Approved, Published. Staff work in draft-only permissions; Section Editors and the Editor-in-Chief approve. Corrections are published as dated notes beside the affected story.

Step 01

Draft

Staff or Contributors submit a draft through the moderated form.

Step 02

Pending

The Section Editor reviews facts, sourcing, and credits.

Step 03

Approved

The Editor-in-Chief and Adviser consult on legal review items.

Step 04

Published

The story goes live with its byline, photo credits, and any correction notes.
